Campus Construction and Operational Impacts

Location: CRW — 501 Farber Road and 201 Loetscher Place  

Duration: 501 Farber Road — final work and closeout underway; 201 Loetscher Place — construction expected to begin in spring 2027  

Impact: Scaffolding and construction activity at 501; four parking spaces near 201 temporarily unavailable for material storage  

Princeton Theological Seminary is replacing deteriorating soffits and gutters at 501 Farber Road and 201 Loetscher Place on the CRW Campus. The work is being completed by K Restoration and Roofing Corp. (KRR).  

501 Farber Road  

KRR is completing the remaining work and punch-list items at 501 Farber Road and continuing to remove scaffolding from the building.  

Once scaffolding has been fully removed, additional site restoration will take place in areas affected by the work, followed by final inspection and project closeout.  

Residents should continue to follow posted signs and remain outside active or restricted work areas while this work is completed.  

201 Loetscher Place  

Although the required permit for 201 Loetscher Place has now been received, earlier permitting delays pushed the anticipated start of this exterior work later into the fall. Given the approaching winter weather and the scope of the project, the Seminary has decided to postpone construction until spring 2027.  

No scaffolding will be erected around 201 this fall or winter.  

The Seminary is working with KRR to develop an updated mobilization plan and detailed project schedule so that work can begin in the spring with a realistic timeline and residents have clear information about what to expect before construction starts.  

In the meantime, the small parking area next to 201 will continue to be used to store scaffolding materials. Four parking spaces will remain temporarily unavailable; no accessible parking spaces are affected.  

Additional information, including the anticipated spring start date and project schedule, will be posted here and shared directly with residents once confirmed.  

Safety and Site Management  

The safety of residents and visitors remains a primary concern throughout this work. Active construction and staging areas will be restricted, and residents and campus visitors should follow posted signs and remain outside fenced or designated work areas.  

This page will be updated as work plans and schedules develop. Residents will also receive direct communications about significant changes affecting their building, access, parking, or the anticipated schedule.

The Seminary is beginning work on a comprehensive renovation of Alexander Hall. Interior demolition will begin Monday, October 5, requiring temporary road closures and changes to traffic patterns around the building. 

Beginning October 5: 

• The roads immediately in front of and behind Alexander Hall will be closed except to authorized construction vehicles. 
• Vehicles entering the Quad area will need to enter from Mercer Street, travel behind Hodge Hall, and exit through the Staff Parking Lot. 

• Construction activity will generally take place between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00–4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. 

• Pedestrian access across campus will remain available, including accessible routes and access to the Overseas Ministries Study Center and surrounding buildings. 

These traffic changes are expected to remain in place for approximately four to six weeks. Please follow posted signage and any temporary routing around the construction area.

Princeton University is conducting utility repairs on College Road between Springdale Road and Alexander Street.

Through Wednesday, January 6, alternating one-way traffic will be in effect weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic as needed, and travelers should anticipate possible delays through the area.

Sidewalks will remain open during the work. Please use caution when traveling along College Road.
