Additionally, the Library, Erdman Center, and the Chapel each maintain lost and found stations, typically for items like clothing and small personal belongings. Be sure to retrace your steps and check the location where you may have left your property.
Staff members transfer valuable items from these locations to the central Public Safety Communications Center. This practice ensures proper inventory tracking and secure storage. By centralizing valuable items, the Seminary actively safeguards them from loss or misplacement and supports a safe, organized campus environment.
After a certain period, staff will either donate or dispose of unclaimed lost items—typically after 120 days. However, we retain items deemed valuable for one year to give their rightful owner adequate time to claim them. If these items remain unclaimed, the Seminary will report them to the State of New Jersey as unclaimed property. This process ensures compliance with state regulations while making every effort to return lost property to its owner.
Finally, please stay mindful of Campus Building Hours, as they determine when you can access buildings to check for lost and found items. If you find something during these hours, bring it to the Public Safety Communications Center for safekeeping. Items found outside of regular hours may not be accessible right away, so it’s important to act during normal building hours when possible.
