National Library Week 2026
April 19, 2026 | Library News
“April 19-25, 2026, marks National Library Week in the United States. Sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA), this week honors the contributions of libraries and librarians across the United States. National Library Week also promotes the use and patronage of libraries of all kinds.
National Library Week is an annual celebration highlighting the valuable role libraries and library professionals play in transforming lives and strengthening our communities. According to the ALA, this year’s theme is “Find Your Joy,” which calls for people of all backgrounds to reflect and explore how libraries can spark joy.
Atla also celebrates this week by reflecting on its commitments to theological libraries and librarians—a commitment that has persisted since its founding in 1946. We invite you to consider what sparks joy in your library and library work.”
