PhD Candidate | History & Ecumenics (World Christianity and History of Religions)
Sun Yong Lee is a PhD student in the Department of History and Ecumenics, studying World Christianity and history of religions. She earned a MDiv from Yale Divinity School, a ThM in church history from Ewha Graduate School of Theology, and a BA in Ewha Womans University. Her research interests center on the history of Christianity in East Asia, Korea in particular. She is especially interested in women’s experiences in their mission encounters and their participation in the formation of indigenous Christianity. Her research expands to the history of Protestant missions in India and Latin America, social theory of religion, and religion in popular culture.
