Shari Oosting has spent 15 years in theological education, with an abundance of experience helping young adults, both seminary students and working professionals, discern God’s call in their lives. She believes discernment isn’t about finding simple answers, but about paying attention: to God, to community, and to the surprises, losses, and joys woven through each of our stories. These stories are complex, nuanced, and frustratingly ambiguous—and they are the heart of faithful discernment in community. Shari first sensed a call to ministry while serving as a campus ministry student leader at Grand Valley State University in Michigan. She holds an MDiv from Princeton Theological Seminary, where she now directs the Polaris Leadership Network, an initiative that connects and resources young adult Christians across the United States.
