Samantha (Sam) is a doctoral student in physics at Georgia Tech, with a research focus on computational cosmology, creating mock observations to compare our simulations of the early universe with recent observations of early galaxies seen by the James Webb Space Telescope. Sam is originally from Belton, South Carolina, and received a bachelor’s degree from Clemson University in physics and a minor in digital production arts.

Sam enjoys painting, reading, and participating in activities at First Presbyterian Church (FPC) of Atlanta. Sam is active in FPC’s 20’s and 30’s group and is happy to have a community of warm and welcoming people as she grows closer to God.
