Rev. Dr. Marques Harvey, is an ordained, Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) Church. He accepted the call to ministry under the leadership of the Reverend Dr. Kenneth E. Marcus at Turner Chapel AME Church, Marietta, Georgia, where he served actively for over 15 years.

In May of 2021, Pastor Harvey was appointed at the Atlanta North Georgia Annual Conference as the Pastor of Greater Mount Carmel AME Church in Doraville, Georgia. Together, they are connecting persons to the liberating love of Jesus Christ and fulfilling the mission of ministering to the spiritual, physical and social development of the community.

Pastor Harvey received his undergraduate degree from Benedict College in Biology/ Pre- Medicine and earned the Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) degree from the Morehouse School of Medicine. He later matriculated to the Candler School of Theology at Emory University and graduated with honors, earning a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree with a concentration in Ethics & Theology and a Certificate in Black Church Studies.

Pastor Harvey pursued additional studies earning a Doctor of Ministry (D. Min) at the Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington D.C. During his 20 plus year career in the field of public health, Pastor Harvey has been employed at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Emory University, the Research Triangle Institute (RTI), and the Morehouse School of Medicine.

A creative minister with expertise in the intersections of public health, pastoral care, and social justice, Pastor Harvey has responded to God’s call in communities from the United States to the African continent. Throughout his ministry he has had opportunities to collaborate with many faith communities, schools and community-based organizations. Pastor Harvey is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and serves on several professional, academic and community boards. He is married to his partner in life and ministry Dr. Linda Harvey, and they are the proud and loving parents of two children.
