Mycal Xavier Brickhouse

Mycal is an ordained pastor and servant-leader whose work bridges faith, education, and community transformation. He serves as managing director of programs and grants at Leadership Education at Duke Divinity School and as the director of outreach and church expansion at Baptist Grove Church in Raleigh, North Carolina. He holds dual bachelor of arts degrees in political science and African American studies from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and his Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry are both from Duke Divinity School. He teaches global leadership and ministerial formation at Duke Divinity and Fuller Theological Seminary and serves on the board of NeighborUp. A public theologian, his work has appeared in Sojourners and on BBC and NBC. He and his wife, Kristin, are raising three children named Micah, Manaia, and Makoa.
