Marah Sarji is a PhD candidate in theology, ethics, and politics at Princeton Theological Seminary. She holds a master’s in sociology and cultural anthropology. Her research focuses on the figure of the Holy Great Martyr Barbara and her commemoration among Palestinian Christian women as a popular source for Palestinian decolonial feminist theology. Her research interests also include womanist and indecent theology, Palestinian liberation theology, the history of Arabic Melkite Christianity, and Eastern Orthodox theology.
