Bio:
Jun-Youb (J.Y.) Lee is a Princeton Theological Seminary Postdoctoral Fellow at Trinity Church Wall Street. He holds degrees in business, East Asian studies, and divinity from Wharton, Stanford, and Harvard. His 2026 dissertation was titled “Syngman Rhee and the Origins of Korean Christian Nationalism.”
During his doctoral studies, J.Y. served churches in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Paris, and Tokyo. His second book, “Union in Tokyo: A History of Tokyo’s First Protestant Church,” is forthcoming with Wipf and Stock in fall 2026. Prior to seminary, he worked in journalism and literary translation.
J.Y. is a candidate for ordination in the Presbyterian Church (USA). His writing has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Korea Times, The Christian Century, and Christianity Today. He is a lifelong runner, bassist, and beginner DJ on a mission to introduce electronic music to Protestants.
