Ban-Souk Kim is a PhD student in Practical Theology with a concentration in Pastoral Theology. His research focuses on theories and practices of contextual pastoral theology/care that can be applied to immigrant contexts. The primary objective of his study is to construct a culturally appropriate model of care for marginalized immigrants. To achieve this, he utilizes methodologies, such as narrative theories, psychology of relational self, liturgical practices, and ethnography, to understand how healing narratives are re-enacted within immigrant populations.

Ban-Souk received his BA degree from Seoul Theological University in Korea in 2011 and his MDiv from Candler School of Theology at Emory University. Prior to joining Princeton Theological Seminary, he earned STM and MAR degrees from Yale Divinity.
