A group of college students formed a rap group while students at a Christian University. Nearly a decade later half of them are atheist/agnostic. “My e(X) Religion” offers a glance into Black Humanism, surprising viewpoints on the 2016 Presidential Election, and interesting perspectives regarding Hip Hop culture and spiritual formation. This documentary was made possible by an innovation grant received by Rev. Kermit Moss from Leadership Education at Duke Divinity and partnership with documentarian Tony Gaboton
Following the screening, Documentary Director Tony Gaboton and Rev. Kermit Moss will engage in a lively discussion with the audience.

Tony D. Gaboton is the director of the documentary. Tony is a graduate of Union Theological Seminary (MDiv) and Emory University’s Candler School of Theology (ThM). He is a licensed Baptist preacher, although he no longer carries on in the tradition, and is a former hospital chaplain. He recently spent one month in an ashram in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and is currently discerning his next vocational endeavor.
Rev. Kermit Moss is Interim Director of Center for Black Church Studies at Princeton Theological Seminary. He is a PhD candidate in the area of Practical Theology (Christian Education and Formation) at Princeton Theological Seminary and has research interests in the intersection of theology, identity, spirituality, pneumatology, urban youth, and hip-hop/pop culture.
