Dr. Elaine James is the William Henry Green Professor of Old Testament Literature at Princeton Theological Seminary. Her research explores the poetry of the Hebrew Bible and the ways biblical texts invite us to think about beauty, creativity, the natural world, and what it means to create. Through her teaching and writing, including her recent book The Bible and the Arts of Making, she helps readers discover how ancient Scripture continues to inspire fresh conversations about art, imagination, and human flourishing.
Dr. Rachael Z. DeLue is the Christopher Binyon Sarofim ’86 Professor in American Art at Princeton University and director of the Princeton Humanities Initiative. An art historian whose work bridges art, history, science, and culture, she explores how images shape the way we understand ourselves, one another, and the world we inhabit. Through her scholarship and public engagement, she brings a rich perspective on the power of creativity and the arts to deepen our understanding of place, identity, and human experience.
