Join Princeton Theological Seminary for an immersive, 12-day course traveling through Italy, Tunisia, and Algeria to follow in the Footsteps of St. Augustine of Hippo. Learn alongside Princeton Seminary Faculty members, including Augustinian theologian Dr. Sarah Stewart-Kroeker and practical theologian Dr. Gordon S. Mikoski, as well as current Princeton Seminary students!
Frequently cited as one of the most influential figures in Western Christian tradition, St. Augustine left a legacy of theological vision, preaching, and teaching that has inspired Christian pastors, instructors, and scholars for 15 centuries. Participants in the travel course will visit sites associated with his life and work, exploring the historical and geographical contexts of his theology and ministry with an eye toward critical contemporary appropriation. Together, we will explore classic Augustinian texts — ranging from Confessions, On Christian Doctrine, and other selected sermons — considering their historical contexts and what they might teach us while exploring the cities influential to Augustine’s life and work.
Travel Dates: December 28, 2026 to January 10, 2027. No date changes or alterations permitted.
