The North American Academy of Ecumenists (NAAE) is a community of ecumenical scholars and practitioners from a wide range of Christian traditions across North America. NAAE promotes academic research, ecclesial life, and pastoral practice in the service of Christian unity, bringing together ecumenists, theologians, liturgists, graduate students, church leaders, clergy, religious, and laity who actively seek Christian unity. The Academy typically meets for an annual conference to discuss contemporary ecumenical issues in an informal setting. Papers presented at the conference are submitted to the Journal of Ecumenical Studies. With Professor Raimundo Barreto serving as the Academy’s current vice-president and future president, this year’s NAAE conference will be held for the first time in Princeton—on the campus of Princeton Theological Seminary —from September 25 to 27, 2026. The theme of this year’s conference is: “The Common Good in Our Common Home: World Christianity, the Earth Community, and the Realm of God.”
The Academy will not charge a registration fee to interested Princeton Theological Seminary students, except a specific fee for those who opt for participating in the banquet. All participants must register. Participation is available either in person or virtually.
We look forward to welcoming everyone from Princeton Theological Seminary and the surrounding communities who might be interested in experiencing the NAAE conference.
Registration closes September 14 at 1:00 PM
