Holy Blacked Out: Workshop

November 8, 2019 @ 3:15 pm - 5:00 pm

Event Image Antonia Terrazas Cropped

All are invited to attend Holy Blacked Out, a workshop led by Antonia Terrazas on Friday, November 8 in Tennent 3. This workshop will explore creative exegetical methods of reading toxic theologies in the pursuit of healing and liberation. Participants will discover and practice erasure poetry and blackout poetry as a medium for this work.

Antonia Terrazas is an MDiv graduate from Duke Divinity School and creator of Holy Blacked Out (@holyblackedout). She currently lives in Durham, North Carolina, and tweets about spirituality, fat liberation, sexuality, and lipstick at @antoniaterrazas.

Participants should bring a printed piece of theological literature that they would like to deconstruct during the workshop. Some extra copies may be available on site, but the practice will be most meaningful for those who bring their own selections.
