Faith and Leadership Digital Seminar

June 13, 2020 @ 10:00 am - June 27, 2020 @ 12:00 pm

This seminar is an offering from Aspen Institute Executive Seminars and Princeton Theological Seminary.

Bible with glasses 1200x630

Description

What are we made for? Who am I called to be? How does faith inform my leadership?

The Faith and Leadership digital seminar invites participants of all faiths, and those who see themselves as seekers, to engage in thoughtful text-based dialogue about the spiritual resources of leadership, the integration of faith and reason, and the place of transcendent values in common life.

In an online, interactive, small-group seminar over three consecutive weeks, participants will engage in dialogue about the deep role of faith in leadership and civic life.

Format: Online, interactive conversations, combining the best of the Aspen Institute’s method of moderated, text-based dialogue and Princeton Theological Seminary’s theological and vocational expertise. The two-hour seminars include intentional fellowship, devotion, moderated discussion, and benediction. Participants are asked to bring their full selves to this challenging, confidential dialogue.

Participants: Leaders from business, the nonprofit sector, government, education, and clergy

Readings: Drawn from classic and contemporary authors, including Abraham Joshua Heschel, Martin Luther King, Jr., John Paul II, Victoria Safford, Simone Weil, and John Wesley; approximately 20 pages of reading per seminar session

Seminar Two: Looking In — Vocation
This seminar explores the ways in which faith informs individual callings to the love of God and the love of neighbor. Who am I called to be? What am I called to do? Where am I called to be of service?

Seminar Three: Looking Out — Affirmation
This seminar explores faith and reason in the workplace and the common square. How can faith inform my leadership? How can faith inform politics, commerce, and social life within a pluralistic society?
