15th Annual Senior Blessing Service & Alumni Reception: “Called By Name, Sent With Purpose.”
The Association of Black Seminarians (ABS), in partnership with the Betsey Stockton Center for Black Church Studies (BSC), hosts the 15th Annual Senior Blessing and Alumni Reception, a cherished tradition at Princeton Theological Seminary celebrating the journey and legacy of Black students and alumni. This year’s theme, “Called By Name, Sent With Purpose,” highlights God’s faithful calling and the continued work of ministry beyond seminary. The ceremonial blessing honors graduating students of African descent, celebrating their achievements, covering them in prayer, and sending them forth with love and encouragement as they enter the next stage of their calling and ministry. Grounded in Psalm 118:24 (NIV) — “The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad.” — the service will feature a message from guest preacher Rev. Dr. Danté R. Quick, Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens in Somerset, New Jersey. The celebration will conclude with an Alumni Reception, fostering fellowship and connection between current students, Black alumni, and guests.
