C. Clifton Black (Ph.D., Duke) is the Otto A. Piper Professor Emeritus of Biblical Theology. Before retirement he taught at Princeton Seminary for twenty-five years (1999–2024). Prior to that appointment he taught at Duke University (1984–1985), the University of Rochester (1986–1989), and Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University (1989–1999).
Black is the author of books, articles, and essays. Most are related to the New Testament Gospels.
An ordained elder (ret.) in The United Methodist Church, he now lives in North Carolina.
