Recap: Lecture by Anne Blakenship - Princeton Theological Seminary

The 2019 Toyohiko Kagawa Lecture presented by Dr. Anne Blakenship in November 2019 was entitled "The Adaptability of Christian Nationalism: American Protestants and Japanese Christianity, 1921-1941."

Blankenship is associate professor of religious studies at North Dakota State University and associate director of the Northern Plains Ethics Institute. Her research investigates religious responses to injustice and relations between national racial and religious identities.

The Toyohiko Kagawa Lecture was established to honor the memory of Rev. Kagawa, an international evangelist and social worker and graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary Class of 1915.
