Dr. Anna Carter Florence, MDiv ’88, PhD ’00, presented the Sept. 30th 2019 Donald MacLeod/Short Hills Community Congregational Church Preaching Lecture entitled “Scripts in the Scripture for Bent Double Days.”
Florence is the Peter Marshall Professor of Preaching at Columbia Theological Seminary. Her research focuses on testimony, pedagogies of preaching, the creative process by which communities engage and embody scripture, and how other fields—particularly poetry and theater—offer models for prophetic speech.
