Princeton Theological Seminary is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Linda Romano, Ed.D. as Vice President for Marketing and Communications.
Most recently, Dr. Romano served as Assistant Vice President for Marketing & Brand at St. John’s University. As a key leader, she played a critical role in developing and implementing the institution’s strategic marketing and communications plan and supporting Admissions and faculty colleagues on graduate enrollment, as well as Advancement and Alumni Relations. Furthermore, Dr. Romano served on the leadership team of St. Johns’s Equity and Inclusion Council, along with the Middle State Accreditation Committee, Strategic Planning Task Force, Information Security Governance Council, and Data Governance Team. Dr. Romano was also instrumental in launching the Employee Resource Group which supports LGBTQI+ faculty, administrators and staff.
Prior to her work at St. Johns, Dr. Romano served at Adelphi University as Director of New Media & Creative Services where she grew the University’s digital marketing and social media to support their enrollment and branding goals. Dr. Romano was also the Director of Communications and Marketing at Manhattan Neighborhood Network (MNN) where she created the organization’s first marketing department and oversaw the launch of three new channels.
Her study into data-informed success of higher education institutions led her to conduct research for her doctoral dissertation on “The Transparency Problem in Higher Education Administration: Using a Grounded Theory to Create a Model for Rebuilding Trust,” where she showcases the breakdown of trust in higher education administration and offers a solution for restoration.
President Walton remarks, “As an experienced digital storyteller and higher education professional, Dr. Romano understands how to champion and amplify the mission and values of Princeton Theological Seminary. This ability to roll up her sleeves with a vast understanding of inclusive excellence greatly impressed the Seminary leadership team.””
On her addition to the Princeton Seminary administration Dr. Romano says, “Princeton Theological Seminary has a rich history and a vital mission that resonates with people around the world, and I am eager to use my skills and expertise to tell its unique story. I am blessed to work with President Walton and his talented team to support a continued tradition of excellence, and to be part of shaping The Seminary’s exciting new chapter.”
Dr. Linda Romano begins her position at Princeton Seminary as Vice President for Marketing and Communications on January 21, 2024.
