Deanna Morgan, MACEF ’17, had been working as a TV news reporter for thirteen years when she felt called to seminary. “I was growing deeper in my faith, and I started to realize that the lifestyle as a reporter wasn’t fitting for me anymore,” she said.

Morgan was drawn to Princeton Theological Seminary’s ecumenical community, and spiritual formation classes. Although attending Princeton Seminary is “a dream come true” for her, Morgan acknowledges that it wasn’t an easy transition to be a student again.

“I recognized that the difficulties I faced were a spiritual challenge, and I realized that I had to be patient and trust the process,” she said.

Now, reflecting on her formation at the Seminary, she said, “I’ve been able to thrive here and I now know that I can make it through any situation.”

“I wasn’t sure if I’d ever be able to afford seminary, but Princeton Seminary’s financial aid program allows people of faith to follow their call,” she said. “My generous financial aid package is allowing me to explore my passions, be present in the classroom, and prepare for ministry—without financial worries.”

Morgan’s dream is to connect her faith and her passion for communication to her ministry.

“We don’t live in a world devoid of religion and faith—ministry is all around us,” she said. “I’m excited to connect my faith to my ministry.”
