Alum Nathan Johnson wins Manfred Lautenschlaeger Award - Princeton Theological Seminary

Princeton Theological Seminary is proud to announce PhD ’19, alum, Dr. Nathan Johnson was 1 of 10 scholars to be awarded the Manfred Lautenschlaeger Award for Theological Promise, 2024. Winners of this award are selected by 20 reviewers from 15 countries and are honored in a ceremony in the Old Auditorium of Heidelberg University in Heidelberg, Germany.

Dr. Nathan Johnson currently serves as the Assistant Professor of Religion in the Department of Philosophy and Religion at the University of Indianapolis where he specializes in New Testament; Second Temple Judaism and Early Christianity. Nathan’s most recent book, The Suffering Son of David in Matthew’s Passion Narrative, which was published in October of 2023, covers the David traditions in the Gospel of Matthew’s story of Jesus’s death.
