Princeton Theological Seminary’s Contemplative Leadership Program hosted Prayer as Resistance: Contemplative Practices for Liberative Justice on campus and online April 22-23, 2022. An exploration of the ways in which our justice work can be anchored in the depths of God’s love for us and for our world, this conference included an opening panel, a jazz concert, and workshops.

The Prayer as Resistance opening panel included Lisa Bowens, Shane Claiborne, Haejin Shim Fujimura, Mako Fujimura, Juliet Liu, Leonard McMahon, Shann Ray, Andrew Skotnicki, and Caz Tod-Pearson.
Friday evening’s jazz concert explored the use of improvisations as liberative justice. Musicians included David Bennett Thomas, Jasyn Brazoban, Shanon Chua, Cornell Fields, Jason Fraticelli, George Rabbai, and Satchel Schwartz. Fr. Robert W. McChesney led a workshop titled “Ignatian Imaginative Contemplation as Resistance,” exploring the use of the imagination in contemplative practice.
