Alumni Relations

Explore the many ways to connect with Princeton Seminary alumni serving across the globe. Discover campus and regional events, volunteer opportunities, and resources for lifelong learning.  Keep your seminary network informed on where you are and key life events. We can’t wait to connect.

Our News & Events page highlights recent Alumni achievements, upcoming gatherings, reunions, and important announcements. Whether you’re looking to reconnect, celebrate milestones, or stay informed, this is your go-to hub for all things alumni.

Our purpose in alumni relations is to create, nurture, and sustain life-long relationships among alumni and between alumni and the Seminary. We want to connect you to alumni who live near you, serve in similar contexts, or share similar interests.

The mutual exchange of ideas and resources that begins when you are a student doesn’t end when you graduate. We remain committed to you and your life-long learning, and we know we will continue to learn from you as we grow together.

The Ministry of Alumni Engagement Doesn’t Exist Without You. It’s not only a ministry for you, but it’s also one we do together. Therefore, we invite you to serve as: Reunion Class leaders, Admissions ambassadors, and Alumni Community leaders.

Rev. Mark DeVries

Rev. Mark DeVries, MDiv ’86, to be Honored with 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award

The Rev. Mark DeVries, MDiv ’86, arrived at Princeton Theological Seminary a “fundamentalist” intent on protecting the truth as he saw it. He left with an expansive and evolving view of ministry that shaped the rest of his professional and personal life, one that creates space where others can discern, experiment, and lead. This May, DeVries will receive the 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award at Reunion to honor the significant impact his work has had in the field of youth and family ministry, as well as with congregations and ministry organizations throughout the world.

Dr. Casey Smith

From First-Generation Student to Scholar: How Princeton Seminary Broadened Her Faith and Career

Casey Lynn Smith, PhD ’25, MTS ’17, was a first-generation college student at a small Christian university in Tennessee when her professors offered some advice that surprised her. They told her she should go to graduate school. “I think I said to them, ‘What’s that?’” Smith said. Smith, homeschooled and raised in a conservative Pentecostal denomination, never imagined she’d become a history scholar. But she went on to earn two degrees from Princeton Theological Seminary, developing a distinctive research specialty that explores gender, and sexuality.

FDNY Chaplain Pamela Holmes-Saxton, MDiv ’14, to be Honored with 2026 Alumni Service Award

Whether praying at the site of a three-alarm fire, visiting the bedside of an injured firefighter or EMS worker, or delivering an invocation, the Rev. Pamela Holmes-Saxton, MDiv ’14, is a source of spiritual support for the largest fire department in the US. As one of just a handful of New York City Fire Department (FDNY) chaplains, she and her colleagues serve more than 11,000 firefighters, 4,500 EMTs, paramedics and EMS officers, and their families during some of the most emotional moments in their lives.
