David Chao | Director
Dr. David C. Chao is the Director of the Center for Asian American Christianity at Princeton Theological Seminary, where he teaches courses and leads programs in Asian American theology and ministry. His research focuses on the faith and practice of ordinary Asian Christians in diasporic contexts, the intersection of Christian doctrine and liberation, and the theological contributions of Karl Barth. Chao also examines the convergence and divergence of Protestant and Catholic dogmatics and explores the role of Christian doctrine in addressing contemporary social and political challenges.

Felicia Wu Song is a cultural sociologist who studies the social effects of digital technologies on community and identity in contemporary life. She is author of Restless Devices: Recovering Personhood, Presence, and Place in the Digital Age (2021), Virtual Communities: Bowling Alone, Online Together (2009) and other academic articles on expectant women’s online information-seeking habits and the cultural evolution of “mommy bloggers.” Trained in history, communication studies, and sociology from Yale, Northwestern and University of Virginia, she has taught Mass Communication at Louisiana State University and been Professor of Sociology at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA. Her current research interests include how race, theology, and digital practices intersect with spiritual formation and well-being in contemporary life.

Roberto Solis Abraham serves as co-pastor of Iglesia de Cristo in the El Salvador neighborhood of Saltillo, Mexico. He is married to Danea and together they have four daughters. Roberto is also an active member of Nurturing Communities, a network of Christ-centered intentional communities.

Daniella Jacob is a Malayali-American, born and raised in Houston, Texas. She is currently an undergraduate student at Bryn Mawr College studying Religion and Anthropology. As a Public Scholarship Editor at the CAAC, she has enjoyed helping thinkers of all generations and denominations putting to words what may be hard to explain. After Bryn Mawr, Daniella hopes to continue her research through graduate school.

Sangeon Kim | Public Scholarship Editor
Sangeon Kim is a PhD student in the History and Ecumenics department at Princeton Theological Seminary. He earned a BA in Methodist Theological University and a ThM in Yonsei University in Korea. Prior to doctoral work, Sangeon also earned an MDiv at Candler School of Theology in Emory University. His research project focus is the dynamics of race and religion in the Korean South and the American South. He is also a lead pastor of Kingston United Methodist Church. Plus, He is a sushi lover.

Jinju Lee | Research Assistant
Jinju Lee (이진주), born and raised in South Korea, earned her M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary (PTS) and is now continuing her studies there in the Th.M. program, with a focus on women in World Christianity. Prior to her time at PTS, she was actively engaged in ecumenical and interfaith networks through the Christian Conference of Asia and the World Council of Churches. She has been working with Dr. David Chao, Director of the Center for Asian American Christianity at PTS, on an oral history project and a digital humanities project. She is currently translating Intersectional Theology: An Introductory Guide by Grace Ji-Sun Kim and Susan M. Shaw into Korean.

Evangeline Hsieh | Research Fellow
Evangeline Hsieh is Doctoral Candidate at Widener University’s Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology. Evangeline earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychological Sciences from William & Mary and her Masters in Clinical Psychology from Widener. Evangeline has always been fascinated with stories and the various factors that play a role in the stories we live out and how that impacts our relationship with Christ. Throughout her clinical training, Evangeline has been working to understand and help others understand their stories therapeutically, primarily working with children, adolescents, and families to treat a variety of psychological disorders. She is currently working to obtain her certification in School Psychology in Pennsylvania.

Ben Immanuel | Research Associate
Ben Jonathan Immanuel, ThM ’24 graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary, presently serves as a Christian educator in India and has trained several Sunday school and youth ministry leaders from various church denominations across the country. His ministry and ongoing research interests are in the areas of theological interpretation of scripture, music and liturgy, ecumenism, and theology in relation to technology and culture. He also serves as one of the pastors in an interdenominational church in Coonoor, India, where he lives with his wife and daughter.
