We all know at least one person who struggles with an eating disorder, or we will in the future, especially if we serve in ministry contexts. Do we really know enough about this potentially fatal illness to be helpful? Why do eating disorders get started? What are the stages in the development of this behavior? What are the symptoms, and what makes recovery so difficult? What steps are involved in recovery? What resources are available to PTS students and spouses?
Come and learn more about eating disorders from The Director of Student Counseling, Nancy Schongalla-Bowman, and a student who has successfully battled and eating disorder that dominated her life for 13 years. She is eager to share what she has learned so that more people understand this complex illness and know how to help someone who is suffering.
