Anyone interested in accessing and enjoying their God-given creativity more fully will find kindred spirits and much encouragement by participating in a group on Julia Cameron’s best-selling book, The Artist’s Way: A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity. The book is a helpful guide for becoming free of self-limiting beliefs and behaviors that block one’s confidence, creativity, and productivity. Cameron’s approach is thought-provoking and fun. The exercises and questions at the end of the chapters can easily be incorporated into retreats in ministry contexts.
The group will benefit students and spouses who have specific artistic interests as well as those who simply want to approach life with more imagination, energy, and inspiration. The book has helped students discern their call and helped PhD students “unblock” in dissertation writing. This group is a great way to get to know others and a deepening experience for friends to share.
The group facilitator is a M.Div. Senior who is passionate about the interface between spirituality and creativity. There is no fee but you will need the book (don’t buy a used one). Please register your interest and availability in the Student Counseling Office in Scheide Hall by Friday, February 14th, so the group can begin the week of February 18th. Group size limited to eight. For more information email Michelle Thompson.
The group will meet weekly on campus for 75 minutes, based on availability of participants.
Monday, Tuesday or Thursday from 12 – 1:15
or Tuesday 6:30 – 7:45 p.m.
