Small Church Leadership: Looking at Smaller Churches with Fresh Eyes

Friday, November 2, 2012

This event has been postponed. Please check back for more information.

Overview

Smaller churches (less than 100 in worship) are the right size to be all that God expects a church to be and do and different because the size of anything makes all the difference.  Workshop leader David Ray will help attendees to better understand these realities and teach them to guide smaller churches toward being more faithful and effective.  He will help attendees think theologically and theoretically about small churches.  And he will explore advantages and address challenges.  Attendees will leave better equipped for leadership in their particular situations. This will be dynamic conversation!

Speaker

 David Ray 2

David Ray has over 30 years experience as a pastor and has been the pastor of the Congregational Church (UCC) of Bristol, Maine since Aug. 2004.  Until recently, he was also the half-time Associate Minister for Small Church Development for the Maine Conference of the United Church of Christ. He teaches, consults with churches of all sizes, writes, and provides leadership on small and rural church issues.  A highly regarded expert on small church leadership, he is the author of several books, including The Indispensable Guide for Smaller Churches and Wonderful Worship in Smaller Churches.  Currently, he is completing a manuscript for a new, comprehensive book about smaller churches, tentatively titled, ALL About Smaller Churches.
