Picture of Michael Christensen
Dr. Michael J. Christensen is the director of the Doctor of Ministry Program at Drew Theological School and affiliate assistant professor of spirituality at the Graduate School of Drew University. A public policy activist for the children of Chernobyl since 1990, Dr. Christensen currently serves as senior consultant and program manager of the psychosocial component of the Chernobyl Childhood Illness Program - a 4 million dollar USAID cooperative agreement to support medical treatment and mental health training in the Ukraine. He is also a senior research scholar for the Princeton Project on Youth, Religion, and Globalization. Dr. Christensen is author of five books, including: City Streets, City People: A Call to Compassion; The Samaritan’s Imperative: Compassionate Ministry to People Living with AIDS; and Children of Chernobyl: Raising Hope from the Ashes. He is general editor of The NextChurch series, published by Abingdon.

Picture of Thomas John Hastings
The Rev. Thomas John Hastings has been in service as a mission co-worker of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) since 1988. He is an associate professor of practical theology (Christian Education) at Tokyo Union Theological Seminary, which is the largest seminary in Japan.

The Rev. Hastings's recent writings have focused on the tensions between theology and culture and the need for a revised and more holistic Protestant catechesis in a postmodern, globalized world.

Dr. Deon Kitching serves as the editor of the Journal for Theological Students and is an executive member of the "Deo Gloria" representative council (of theological students). Dr. Kitching has been a lecturer at the Huguenot College in Wellington and was responsible for the re-development of the Youth Ministry course at the undergraduate level. Dr. Kitching has lectured in the fields of practical theology, youth and pastoral care, young adult ministry, youth culture and the church, planning and organization of youth ministry, and discipleship, to name a few.

Sakhi Athyal is presently living in India doing independent research. She is also an adjunct professor at Union Biblical Seminary in India.

Picture of Dr. Daniel S. Schipani
Dr. Daniel S. Schipani a native of Argentina, is currently a professor of Christian Education and Personality at the Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Elkhart, Indiana. Dr. Schipani also serves as an affiliate professor of pastoral care and educational ministry for the Chicago Cluster of Theological Schools.

Dr. Schipani is also involved in theological education within the Hispanic community and participates in several endeavors in Latin America and Europe. His writings, (including works he has edited) include eighteen books, primarily in Spanish and English. Dr. Schipani's involvement with the Globalization, Youth, and Church Project focuses on Latin America.

Picture of Kenda Creasy Dean
Dr. Kenda Creasy Dean, codirector of the Princeton Project on Globalization, Youth and the Church , serves as assistant professor of youth, church and culture at Princeton Theological Seminary. Her research for this project focuses on youth and ministries in the United States. An ordained United Methodist pastor and the director of the Princeton Theological Seminary Institute for Youth Ministry until 1998, Dr. Dean has written extensively on issues related to youth and the church, and has lectured on youth ministry throughout the U.S. as well as in Zimbabwe, South Africa, Russia, and Scotland.

She is a graduate of Miami University of Ohio, Wesley Theological Seminary, and Princeton Theological Seminary, and is the author of The Godbearing Life: The Art of Soul-Tending for Youth Ministry (Upper Room) with Ron Foster, and of Practicing Passion: Bringing Together the Passion of Christ with the Passion of Adolescents to Change the 21st Century Church (forthcoming, Eerdmans).

Picture of Dr. Friedrich Schweitzer
Dr. Friedrich Schweitzer is the chair of practical theology and Christian Education at the University of Tuebingen since 1995. Previously, Dr. Schweitzer was the chair of practical theology and Christian education at the University of Mainz.

Dr. Schweitzer is a member of the Center of Theological Inquiry in Princeton. He has also served as the president of the International Academy of Practical Theology, and is currently the chair of the German association of practical theology.

Dr. Schweitzer is (co) editor of the major German Journal of Religious Education (Zeitschrift fuer Paedagogik und Theologie) and of The Yearbook of Religious Education (Jahrbuch der Religionspaedagogik). Dr. Schweitzer publications include Identitaet und Erziehung, Lebensgeschichte und Religion, Die Religion des Kindes, Die Suche nach eigenem Glauben, and Das Recht des Kindes auf Religion.

Emmanuel Lartey is currently Senior Lecturer in Pastoral Studies and Practical Theology in the Department of Theology, University of Birmingham.

He is currently Chairperson of the British and Irish Association for Practical Theology, President of the International Council for Pastoral Care and Counsel & Treasurer of the International Academy for Practical Theology. Emmanuel Larteys' publications include In Living Colour: An Inter-cultural Approach to Pastoral Care and Counselling ,Pastoral Counselling in Inter-cultural Perspective, and The Church and Healing: Echoes from Africa (Co-editor).

Picture of Richard Osmer
Richard R. Osmer is the Thomas W. Synnott Professor of Christian Education and the director of the School of Christian Education at Princeton Theological Seminary. He specializes in the history of education and the teaching ministry. An ordained Presbyterian minister, Dr. Osmer began his career as a minister to United Methodist churches in New England and North Carolina. Since 1994, he has served as the chair of the Special Committee to Write New Catechisms for the Presbyterian Church (USA).
