Institute for Youth Ministry

The Certificate in Youth and Theology
The Certificate in Youth and Theology Program is offered in cooperation with Princeton Theological Seminary’s Center of Continuing Education and recognizes those who have made a sustained commitment to nondegree theological education in youth ministry. It is granted by the Princeton Theological Seminary Institute for Youth Ministry to those who have enrolled in the certificate program, completed course work at three Princeton Forums on Youth Ministry over a two-to-five-year period, and attended a capstone retreat.

The certificate program is open to pastors, Christian educators, youth ministers, volunteers, and seminarians. The program “clusters” nondegree theological education around the central theme of youth ministry for a determined length of time. By design, it allows participants more in-depth reflection in a given area of ministry than a single event normally allows.

The Certificate in Youth and Theology Program seeks to transform youth ministry in the church and in youth-serving agencies by encouraging practitioners to engage in intentional theological reflection and by providing them with opportunities to develop relationships with colleagues in the field.
