The $100 million Bicentennial Campaign is dedicated to two specific projects that support the growth of Princeton Theological Seminary in service to the church in the world: a new theological library, and the new Charlotte Rachel Wilson (CRW) Apartment complex.
The new library will carry on the Seminary’s tradition as having one of the world’s great theological libraries, rich and diverse in its collections. These collections represent one of the finest resources in the world for Christian theological scholarship, second only to the Vatican. The new library will send our resources “into the world” through electronic sharing of the library’s collections. It will be a portal to the world of theological scholarship that combines traditional and new technologies and offers expanded digital resources, increased space for scholars to meet and exchange ideas, and access for church leaders, pastors, scholars, and students in worldwide ministry.
The CRW Apartment complex opened in January 2012, creating a community for studying, sharing, living, and connecting. With one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom options, the apartments feature an open floor plan, large windows, new appliances, hardwood floors, two bathrooms, and a washer and dryer. The apartments range in size from a one-bedroom (675 square feet) to a four-bedroom (1,774 square feet).
In addition, improvements to Luce Library will integrate that existing facility with the new library building.
to the library will support every aspect of the collection, including
digitization, maintenance, preservation, and acquisitions, so that these
resources can be shared throughout the world.
Breakdown of funding needs:
• New library building: $55 million
• Equipment and furnishings: $16 million
• Luce Library improvements: $4 million
• Library endowment: $5 million
