On the Cover
Art Director Kathy Whalen has used
U.S. campaign buttons and flags of Mexico, Kenya, Germany, South
Korea, and the United Nations to convey the truth that for many
Christians the flag of patriotism flown during election season is
marked, and sometimes torn, by their confession of faith in Jesus
Christ. Whether running for office, voting, or reciting the great
confessions of the Reformed faith in worship, these believers
understand that faith propels us from the church into the world.

A Living Confession: The Presbyterian
Church and the Anniversary of the Confession of 1967
Every church must respond to the demands of its place and
time, and confessions are one of the ways churches have done
so. The Confession of 1967 and the Book of Confessions are
part of the living witness to today's church.
